Honor Mission
Herbert Lape, Veteran
Clarkston, Michigan – 11-04-19

The Family of SSG Herbert “Herb” Lape, 91, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to Stand in Honor of his Service to our Country. Mr. Lape was born in Effex, MO, on 12-3-27. At the age of 16, he snuck into the United States Army during World War II. After training, he was sent to Le Havre, France, and served with the 261st Infantry Regiment, 65th Division, in Germany, France, Belgium and Austria. He was on the front lines during the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in Battle, and spent a year in Valley Forge Hospital recovering from a gunshot wound. He died October 26th of this year while residing in Florida. Obituary:

We will stage at the Office/Chapel Bldg. just inside the Cemetery. It is anticipated that the Service will be at the Chapel, but this is subject to change. Please bring your 3′ x 5′ American Flag to Stand in Honor of Mr. Lape’s Service to our Country.

Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
