ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Petty Officer Downs has asked the Patriot Guard to stand for their hero’s final service. Petty Officer Downs served faithfully and honorably during the early years of the Vietnam conflict. His job was aviation electrician assigned to Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron 4 serving in Southeastern Asia. He returned home after 2 tours and was employed by International Paper in Bastrop, LA until retirement.

Special Instructions:
Flags will be placed at church. We will stand by door to greet family and friends. During service we will have a brief rider meeting and then escort to cemetery for interment. After service we will escort Petty Officer Downs to his final rest at H.V. Adams Cemetery on Kammell Street in Bastrop. There we will stand during interment service.
