AFTER ACTION REPORT: Tec5 Henry Bryan Keeton, US Army WWII Veteran, Tulsa, OK
Monday, 29 July 2019 was a cloudy, muggy Oklahoma day. The PGR staged and briefed at Wesleyan Bible Church to flags that had been posted across the front of the church and at the entrance. During the briefing the coach arrived with Mr. Keeton, the PGR helped move him into the church and assisted with the flowers. Continuing the aspects of todays mission including the accompaniment to Coweta. At the conclusion of the briefing a moment of silence was given followed by a prayer. The PGR manned the front and rear doors with a flag line on both sides of the building welcoming family and friends. When the service began all flags were retrieved and prepared for the next mission. Several riders departed the church to place flags at the cemetery for our arrival. At the conclusion of the service the PGR formed a Respect Line as Tec5 Bryan Keeton was moved from the church to the coach. The accompaniment began as the PGR surrounded the coach and family car. We traveled across Tulsa and arrived in Coweta, at the city limits we were met by the Coweta Police Department that provided us escort safely thru Coweta to the Vernon cemetery. A Respect Line was formed as Tec5 Keeton was moved from the coach to his final resting place. A VFW Honor Guard came forward and held the flag as a three round volley was fired, Taps were played and the flag was folded and presented to Bryan Keeton’s son. Each VFW member came forward and presented a Salute to the family and the Hero. The PGR then came forward, thanked the family, read and presented a plaque and Invocation Letter to the son and daughter. A Final Salute was given, that was participated by all in attendance. The pastor closed the service with a prayer. After waiting an appropriate amount of time the flags were retrieved and prepared for the next mission. After many words of appreciation from family and friends the PGR was dismissed.
Thank you, to the Keeton family for inviting the PGR to be a part of this service honoring this WWII Hero. Thank you to the Coweta Police Depart for the excellent job in safely escorting us thru Coweta to the cemetery. Thank you to the many PGR riders who took time out of their day to “Stand and Honor” this Hero.
“Rest in Peace” Tec5 Henry Bryan Keeton, US Army WWII Veteran, your mission is complete, you are gone, but your service to this Great Nation will never be forgotten.
Respectfully submitted:
