ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been invited to honor and pay respects to PFC Harold K. Lunde. PFC Lunde was born in Glendive, Mt. on the 26th of December, 1924. He was a farmer before enlisting in the US ARMY in September, 1944. His military occupation was infantry and was also airborne qualified. Assigned to the “occupation” force in Japan with the 101st Airborne, his job was searching for remaining gun emplacements and hiding Japanese soldiers. He was awarded the Parachute Qualification Badge, Army of Occupation Medal, WW-II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Harold was married twice, both deceased, and had 6 children. He worked at Ft. Lewis as a locksmith and machine repair. He was a “proud” American and known to display flags outside his home and inside as well. He was also an accomplished accordion player and performed with many local groups. Please join us in honoring another of our Nations Heroes.
