DESCRIPTION:The family of Lt. Glen Stewart Collins has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to Stand Tall with Honor\, for their loved one. \nGlen Stewart Collins of Lake Oswego\, Oregon was born in Fort Carson\, Colorado on June 7th\, 1964 to Gerald and Barbara Collins. He travelled the US and overseas while his father was in the Army\, Lt. Collins claimed Norton\, Virginia\, his home. Glen attended J.J. Kelly High School\, in Wise\, Va. He served in multiple US Armed forces including Army\, as a Ranger\, attached to the 2nd Armored Division\, from 1981 to 1984; and Navy from 1985 to 1990 when he worked his way through BUDS Navy Seal Training. Throughout his Navy Seal career he served as an operator\, trainer and chief for multiple SEAL teams. In 2004 he graduated from Troy University with a Masters in Public Administration. \nLt. Collins rose to the rank of Master Chief (E-9) in the enlisted ranks. He graduated college\, applied for OCS\, was commissioned and climbed the ladder to Lieutenant (0-3) as a Naval Officer. \nIn the civilian world\, Mr. Collins was a Protective Security Advisor\, employed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.\nHis greatest joy was participating in triathlons with his son\, Joseph. He also completed a number of races and triathlons including half and full Iron Man and Hood to Coast. \nSome of his decorations include\, but not limited to\, include:\nNavy / Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2); Navy / Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6); Navy Unit Commendation; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Good Conduct Medal (5); National Defense Service Medal (2); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Southeast Asia Service Medal; Armed Forces Service Medal (2); Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4); Navy / Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon; NATO Medal; enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS); Special Warfare Insignia (SEAL); Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS); BUDS Training\, Jumpmaster Training and Dignitary Protection. \nLt.
