AAR – -SGT Gerald Lee Brown, USAF Vietnam Vet, Stilwell, OK
Prior to start of the service at First Baptist Church, Keys, OK. the Patriot Guard Riders staked flags and prepared for arrival of the coach carrying SGT Gerald Lee Brown. The PGR stood a respect line while SGT Gerald Brown was transferred from the coach to the church. A briefing was held to discuss the mission in detail and the PGR then manned the doors as family and friends arrived. We were approached by the Cherokee County Sheriff and he volunteered to give us an escort to the Cemetery after the church service was completed. Another respect line was held as the hero was transferred back to the coach for the trip to his final resting place. On arrival at the cemetery the PGR stood one more respect line as the hero was moved from the coach. The USAF Honor Guard played taps and folded and presented the flag to the spouse followed by the PGR reading the plaque and invocation and presenting the to the spouse.
I would like to thank the Patriot Guard Riders that were able to attend today’s service and also the Cherokee County Sheriff department for their help in getting us to the cemetery. Most of all thank you SGT Gerald Lee Brown for your honorable and faithful service to this great nation.
Sincerely,
RCIC: Jerry “BuzzardBait” Chiappini
