ABOUT THE MISSION:
1st Lt Gerald “Jerry” R. Abbenhaus, 100, proudly served his country in the United States Army from November 1943 to September 1946, serving in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe campaigns with the 26th Infantry 1st US Infantry Division. His decorations include the American Theater Ribbon, 3 Overseas Service Bars, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/3 Bronze Battle Stars, Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), and the Combat Infantry Badge.
