ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of George William MacDonell has requested that the Patriot Guard Riders escort their loved one to his final resting place and have been advised that it will be our pleasure to do so. G. W. MacDonell was born March 20, 1923 in Savannah, Ga. George enlisted in the US Navy and entered into active duty 28 Sept 1948 as a Radioman II Class. During his enlistment he spent 12 months aboard the USS Albemarle AV-5, a sea-plane tender along the Atlantic Coast and through out the Carribean Sea. He was honorably discharged from active duty on 21 Feburary 1950. Following his military service he continued in the radio & television field for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and participation at VFW Post 4706, where he was a past Post Commander.

The memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am with an anticipated departure time shortly after 11:30 for a LEO provided escort to Atlanta. It is going to be hot, plan on staying hydrated.
