G. W. MacDonell was born March 20\, 1923 in Savannah\, Ga. George enlisted in the US Navy and entered into active duty 28 Sept 1948 as a Radioman II Class. During his enlistment he spent 12 months aboard the USS Albemarle AV-5\, a sea-plane tender along the Atlantic Coast and through out the Carribean Sea. He was honorably discharged from active duty on 21 Feburary 1950. Following his military service he continued in the radio & television field for 40 years.
