Another of our “Greatest Generation” veterans has passed away. We have been requested by Madeleine Piro, the daughter of Major George Piro, to assist in his final interment.

The interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery Bellport, NY.
Mission Narrative:
The Major had retired to Florida where he recently passed away in his 95th year. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Army of Occupation, Victory, POW and Air medals. He was a Charter Member of the East Patchogue VFW. He is also the Uncle of Wayne Piro, a former Vice President of Long Island ABATE.
Please bring your flags and, if staging at the cemetery, be prepared for the arrival of the escort. ALWAYS check for updates before a mission. A Ride Captain is available to assist at the cemetery. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail, text or call me.
