Obituary : George Earl Dodson, was born August 28,1923 in Benton, Arkansas and passed away August 29,2016 . He was drafted into the U.S. Army January 19,1943 and discharged at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas on December 3, 1945. He was in the invasion of Normandy, France. His unit was almost wiped out during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. He came home then moved to Louisiana to work in the oil fields. There he married Martha Jean Johnson and were married for 56 years. They have 5 children. In 1965 they moved to Dickinson,TX , where he worked in the oil fields as a pipe fitter until he retired.
