ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to welcome back George Cross who is returning to Phoenix from the 75th Anniversary at Normandy. We gratefully, respectfully, and with honor accept this mission. We welcome back our hero who fought for our freedom and we honor our hero for this service to our nation. George Cross is a United States Army veteran. He proudly served his country in the US Army from June 1942 to July 1946 during WWII. George Cross served in WWII as an Army Paratrooper. He jumped behind enemy lines on June 6, 1944, D-Day. Fortunately, he survived the war without serious injury. George was released from active duty and honorably discharged in July 1946. While in the service of his country George Cross earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign WWII, European Theatre WWII, Victory Medal WWII, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Meritorious Unit Citation, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge. After his Army discharge, he went to work in Montana as a Smoke Jumper. Continuing his service before self, he also later taught at the University of Montana for more than 20 years.

Briefing: 4:30 P.M.
Circle of Honor: 5:15 P.M.
Following the briefing, we will all board the Sky Train together and proceed to the terminal.  Parking is at your discretion. On and off property parking is available. Parking on the airport property cost for all motorcycles and cages. Veterans can have your ticket validated at the USO in the terminal.Upon arrival at the staging location, we will assemble the poles, unfurl the flags, and place them against the wall until time to form the flag line. Please feel free to spend time with the arriving hero, his family, and friends. This is a very special time of interaction which is greatly appreciated.  Flag Captain: TBD

Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.
