Honor Mission
George Arnold Murphy, Retired

ABOUT THE MISSION:

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that we have lost a true American hero, Capt. George Arnold Murphy, age 93. Capt. Murphy’s family has graciously invited the Patriot Guard to escort him to his final resting place and stand a silent flag line during military honors.
Capt. Murphy faithfully and honorably served in the United States Navy for over 32 years from 1943 until his retirement on 14 Apr. 1975. Capt. Murphy was a WW II veteran, serving in the American and the European Theater. His awards include the Navy Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award).
The Patriot Guard will meet Capt. Murphy, family, and friends at the NAS Pensacola Main Gate and escort them to Barrancas National Cemetery.

Special Instructions:

Naval Air Station requires long sleeve shirts, long trousers, long-fingered gloves, DOT approved helmets, leather footwear covering the ankles and appropriate eye protection. This attire will be maintained always while riding aboard the base.
9:30  AM – Briefing for all riders
9:45  AM – KSU to NAS Pensacola Main Gate
10:30 AM – Honors Barrancas National Cemetery Site “B”
Flags & Water:
Flags will be provided.
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water will be provided.

    Captain George Arnold Murphy, US Navy, may you rest in peace knowing that a grateful nation mourns the loss of a true American hero. You answered a nation’s call, serving your country proudly and valiantly. For that, we are eternally in your debt. Stand down brave warrior. Your mission is complete.
