ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of SGT Gary Leroy Newman USA Veteran, has asked the PGR attend his service, Friday 30 Aug, 2019 11:00 AM, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Miami, OK., and accompany their Hero to the G.A.R. Cemetery for interment. Gary was born July 15, 1946 in Miami, OK to Louie A. and Betty (Anderson) Newman. He had lived in Claremore for 32 years. Gary graduated from Miami High School Class of 1964 and attended N.E.O. A &M College in Miami. He had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Tulsa, OK as a switch-man and was Assistant Fire Chief for Tri “District Fire Department in Claremore, OK. He had also served in the Oklahoma National Guard.

AAR: Mission complete 30 Aug 2019 SGT Gary Leroy Newman USA Veteran, Assistant Fire Chief for Tri “District Fire Department, Patriots assembled at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, flags were staked at entrance, ride briefing held, doors were manned. When service started flags were retrieved and 2 PGR went to GAR cemetery and staked them at the committal shelter. When service ended a respect line was formed as Hero was loaded on a trailer pulled by his HD Trike, escort to GAR was led by Miami PD, Miami FD, 2 Tri “District Fire Department engines, the Hero’s Trike, Hero’s son on his bike, and 9 Patriots on bikes, the family and friends. On arrival GAR a respect line formed, Hero was moved to his final resting place, Rev. Jim Land read a scripture and offered a prayer. No Military was present PGR came forward presented the flag to Hero’s wife, presented plaque, and invocation, to the same. Then offered a final salute to the Hero, service concluded.
Thanks to all that attended, the Miami PD, Miami FD and to the Tri “District Fire Department, Claremore, OK. for all of their support, most of all thanks to SGT Gary Leroy Newman for your service to our nation, you will not be forgotten Brother!
