Moore\nUSA\, USN\nSuquamish\, Washington – 22 Apr 2018\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nWe have once again been requested by family members to stand a flag line to honor Diver First Class Gary F. Moore\, U.S. Navy/U.S. Army at his Celebration of Life.\n\nIn 1966 Gary Moore joined the Army Security Agency\, where he served as a Cryptologist. He served a four-year tour from 1966-1970 and was deployed to Turkey as a cryptologist in support of national and strategic level objectives. Having completed his tour in the Army\, he joined the Navy in 1974 to be a diver. After graduating boot camp he went to Guam\, where he served on the USS Proteus\, a sub tender at Polaris Point. In 1976 Gary made rate on the Porteus from being a machinist mate to train and go to school to be a deep-sea diver. In 1978 he was classified as a Navy diver. In 1983 he was promoted to Diver First Class. Gary went on numerous temporary duty locations to include; San Diego\, Diego Garcia\, and Japan. These all included specialized training for specialized assignment details. \nHe retired from the Navy in 1991. \nDuring his service he earned several medals and awards\, including the Overseas Service Ribbon\, First Class Diver Insignia\, 2 National Defense Service Medals.
