DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission \n\nFrench Medal of Honor Ceremony\, Jack Baker\nGrayson\, Kentucky – 21 Mar 2018\n\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \n\nMr. Baker landed at Sector Dog Green on Omaha Beach and fought through the Cherborg Forest. He was in the critical fight at St. Lo and was there as the Germans collapsed and surrendered en masse at the Falaise Gap. He\, with First Army\, was among the first U.S. troops to enter and liberate Paris. He then went on through the battle of Aachen\, the battle of Hergen Forest and as the U.S. crossed the Siegfried Line. \nMr. Baker is 98. He has been awarded five Bronze Stars for his WWII service. He was approved in June 2017 for the French Legion of Honor\, that nation’s highest medal. \nAn official from France will be at the ceremony to present him the French Legion of Honor Medal.
