ABOUT THE MISSION:
Francis B. McGough served in the U.S. Army during WW II. At the end of the war he then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served a combined 38 years of service to his country, attaining the rank of Gunners Mate, Petty Officer 1st Class on board the USS Purdy, DD 734.
