Sergeant Floyd Elliot Norton Jr. served in the United States Marine Corp, where he received five of six possible honors including Private First Class, Highest Shooter of the Platoon, Honor Man of the Platoon, Outstanding Recruit at Paris Island, Platoon Leader, the Marine Corps Leatherneck Award, and Sergeant.
