SUMMARY:FINAL Itinerary- Staff Sgt. Kenneth I. Pugh
DESCRIPTION:Final Houston Itinerary is below for the services for SSgt Kenneth Pugh of Houston TX 7/28/06 \nPlease join us as we honor SSgt Kenneth Pugh\, a hometown hero who paid the ultimate price for our freedom by giving all for you and me. We have known about this possible mission for almost week so I expect a big PGR turn out from our riders. Try to bring at least one new member with you. Please confirm if you will be at this mission so I can get a head count (if you have not already as I have a lot of confirmed riders already). The ride to the cemetery is 15 miles but we will have a police escort for the procession. The plan is for our flag bike (bike with large flags mounted on them) to follow the escort before the hearse and the rest of the bikes will fall in either behind the family of the procession. \nIron Horses if you have them but cages are always welcomed. If you come by car please bring an ice chest with ice so our riders can store their drinks in them and bring extra flags if you have them. \nHouston Staging area: Chevron/McDonalds station at the S/W corner of Cullen and 610 Loop South easy of the Astrodome and HWY 288. Exit 36B if you are coming from the west\, exit 36A if you are coming from the east is a Chevron/McDonalds. See map (the red star is where the church is at\, not the staging area)\, I couldn’t get rid of it) \nTime: 10:00AM Riders Meeting and Prayer At 10:30 KSU at 10:35AM sharp \nService Time: 11AM \nRide Captains for Houston: Lead Captain John Darner\, Co-Captain Kelly Mason \nFlags! Please bring flags on poles so we may display a sea of red\, white & blue!!!! \n \nWeather: This low pressure system will be gone by Friday. It will be hot with a high of 92 degrees in the late afternoon\, forecast says it will be cloudy so that should help. There is a chance of rain but it is suppose to be in the afternoon. As this in Houston be prepared for anything. \nHot Weather Riding Tips: Heat and hot air off the road will dehydrate you quickly\, stay hydrated! Bring fluids\, a drinking system that you strap to your back is ideal. Bring sun screen and use it even if it is over cast. Wear gear for hot weather\, perforated leather or a mesh jacket will keep you cooler than exposed skin in the sun. Make sure your bike is in top condition as it does not over heat and be sure your tires are properly inflated. Under inflated tires produce more heat and can lead to a blow out. \nPlease remember our mission is to honor this fallen solider\, his family and our community\, Stand tall and proud for this American hero\, SSgt Kenneth Pugh! \nJohn Darner (AKA JohnnyD)\nPatriot Guard Riders\nSE Texas Area Contact Coordinator & Ride Captain\nRide with a mission!
