Mission Narrative:
Eugene E. Whitehead was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving Active Duty from 1968-1970. His MOS was 0331 – Machine Gunner, and he served 12 months in Vietnam with Charlie Co., 1st Battalion, 9th Marines (“Walking Dead”), 3rd Marine Division. Mr. Whitehead was Honorably Discharged on 12 November 1970 with the rank of Corporal (E-4.) For his Vietnam Combat Service to our Nation, Cpl. Whitehead’s awards include: Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, USMC Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Medal, Vietnam Civil Actions Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and USN/USMC Combat Action Commemorative Medal.
Please do whatever you are able to help us Honor the Vietnam War Service of Eugene Whitehead, and to support his loving family. Please arrive on time with a clean 3×5 American Flag. US Marine Corps flags will be most welcome. Dress for the weather, bring a beverage for hydration, and ensure your bike flags are properly placed and securely attached.
