On what started as a wet and miserable day, 13 Patriots on 12 bikes stood on a warm clear day to honor PFC Ervin Walton, USA, Vietnam Veteran. Flags were posted at all the entry ways and riders posted to guide and assist where needed. Once the services began the RCIC and ARC staked flags at the High Hill Cemetery. A respect line was formed for transfer from the community center to the coach. Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse officers in 2 vehicles provided escort from the community center to the cemetery without incident. Another respect line was formed for the transfer from the coach to the gravesite. The minister said a few words and a prayer, the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard provided full military honors. The RCIC, ARC and another rider presented three daughters with PGR Invocations, plaques were mailed directly to the daughters due to time restraints. Once the graveside services were finished, the flags were furled and stakes were returned to the trailer.
I would like to thank the 3 daughters for allowing us the privilege of joining their celebration of a life lived well. Thank you to all the riders who braved storms and the elements to join our ride. Most of all I wanted to thank PFC Walton for his service to a grateful nation.
