Confirmed Mission
Emmet Harold Erdmann
U.S. Army Veteran
Appleton, WI
Friday, May 20th, 2016

Emmet H. Erdmann, 87, Appleton, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 after a short illness. Emmet enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950 and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War era as a Medic with the 169th Medical Company.

Emmet was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2778 of Appleton and member of the American Legion Post #38 of Appleton and Cooties Pup Tent 29 (an offshoot of the VFW) of Appleton. Emmet spent countless hours volunteering with all three groups and made many trips to King Veteran Home where he visited the residents with the treat cart. Because of his sense of humor, his friends gave him the nickname “Cheesy”. His daughter said, if he could get anyone to drive him, he’d be there at least once a week visiting and helping with Bingo. He and his daughter went on the Old Glory Honor Flight in June of 2014 to Washington D.C.

We’ve been invited to join the family to celebrate Emmet’s life and his giving spirit. In talking with the family, I just know that Cheesy would have been a great addition to the PGR. Let us celebrate this man who gave so much.
