ABOUT THE MISSION:

The MD Patriot Guard will honor Elmer Conrad Sanders, 94, of Arbutus, MD, by standing a silent flag-line in his honor, at his viewing.  Mr. Sanders died peacefully on June 14th 2020 in an assisted living center.  Elmer proudly served this nation in the US Army, assigned to the 97th Field Artillery Division, as a member of the last “Mule Pack”, while serving in the Pacific Theater.  His dedicated and courageous sacrifice earned him many awards, including a Meritorious Unit award; Asian-Pacific Theater Ribbon w/ Bronze Star; Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Ribbon.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he leaves a large and loving family.  He is greatly missed by all.
