United States Air Force
Arma, Fort Scott, KS
14 June 2016
The Patriot Guard Riders have been honored with a request to escort Sergeant Babcock on his last ride to Ft. Scott National Cemetery 14 June.
Hero Ed Babcock was born 01 May 1944 in Utica, NY and passed away 26 December 2015. True in his spirit of giving, Sergeant Babcock has just returned to us after offering himself to science.
Sergeant Babcock served his country in the United States Air Force in Vietnam from 1961-1965 with the 40th Field Maintenance Squadron Strategic Air Command. While in the Air Force he received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He mustered out of the 838th Transportation Squadron (TAC) while receiving his honorable discharge.
Ed’s service to his country continued after his service in the Air Force while serving in the American Legion, the American Legion Riders, and the Patriot Guard Riders.
I am honored to stand the flag line for Ed as he did for my father almost 3 years ago when I first met him.
