Ed, You were a dependable rider and always had a smile. You fought a good fight with the Big C. Rest in peace, my friend, you will be missed.
***MISSION ACCOMPLISHED*** Today the Patriot Guard Riders honored the service of our Brother, Edward Todd Carolan, United States Air Force, as he rode with us one last time and we established a Flag Line at his celebration of life. The certificate of our appreciation was presented to the family at the committal service.
Many people had a hand in this Mission, not the least – Ed. He planned it and all of his wishes were carried out exactly as directed. He asked that I include a very special thanks to Bill for conducting his service and Bill, thank you for coordinating the procession to the Cemetery. Thanks also go to Jim for your direction at the Committal Shelter; James for the beautiful flag display; Eli for providing the snacks and water; Laura, who so tirelessly gets our Missions out to the Riders; Dan for getting the Missions posting on the National website and as always, to Mike, Linda and Brenda, who took the photographs showing this family the true face of the Patriot Guard Riders, those who so willingly give of themselves and are found standing in the Flag Line. On behalf of Ed and his family – thank you to his adopted family – the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders. He loved every one of us unconditionally.
To Susanne, and all of Ed’s family and friends, thank you for allowing the Patriot Guard Riders to stand today with our brother one last time. Ed represented all that is good with the Patriot Guard Riders, he will forever be missed. May God comfort all of us in our loss.
