ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family LTC Edward Douglas Morse has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Rider’s presence as they show their final respects and lay their loved one to rest.
LTC Morse faithfully served his Country in the U.S. Army and performed duties as Military Intelligence, Inspector General, Special Forces, Green Beret, Parachutist and in Psychological Operations.
Among numerous stateside assignments, LTC Morse served overseas in Vietnam (two tours), Germany, and Belgium.
Upon completion of his service, LTC Morse received an Honorable Discharge and awarded a Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal W/ 3 OLC, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 7 Bronze Stars, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, Aircraft Crewmember Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Palm and a Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal First Class.
The U.S. Army will provide honors at the cemetery.
Note: This is a two-part mission.
Part 1 is a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home in Longwood, followed by an escort (approximately 45 miles) to the Cemetery.
Part 2 is a Committal Service at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and join us as we stand in silent Honor and Respect for our U.S. Army Vietnam Hero and his family.
