The family of SFC Edgar Jose Acosta has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Rider’s presence as they show their final respects and lay their loved one to rest. SFC Costa served his Country in the U.S. Army and performed duties as a Technical Engineer and Combat Engineer.

SFC Acosta served four tours in Iraq during his 9 years of dedicated service to our Grateful Nation. SFC Acosta received injuries while serving, which rendered him disabled and could no longer continue his military service.

Upon leaving the Army, SFC Acosta received an Honorable Discharge and awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Four Campaign Stars, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6th award), Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Lapel Ribbon, Overseas Service Bar (8th award), Authorized Shoulder Sleeve Insignia for Former Wartime Service, Air Assault Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (5th award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ M Device (2nd award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge w/ Pistol Bar, Certificate of Achievement (6th award) and a Driver & Mechanic Badge w/ Driver Wheeled Vehicle (s) Clasp,
