ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been asked by the family of SFC (Ret) Earnest Kelley to stand for their loved one; of course, it will be our honor to do so. Earnest died at the age of 101. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He then served 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a SFC (E7). Earnest was on a ship during the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor and was trapped for seven days. He and the other sailors survived by eating scraps during this time. After retirement from the U.S. Army, Earnest was in real estate and a mortgage broker. He and his loving wife , lived in Hamilton, Georgia.

Special Instructions:

After a short briefing, we will stand for SFC Kelley and his family from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Due to the length of the visitation, feel free to come and go as needed.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure:
Please bring a mask and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at the mission briefing. A general record of attendees will be held by the ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will not be disclosed.
Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have a higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against the risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.

Special Instructions:

After a short briefing, we will stand for SFC Kelley until the start of the service at 11:00 am. After the service, we will escort him and his family a short distance (approximately two miles) to Parkhill Cemetery, where Earnest will be laid to rest with full military honors. SFC Kelley was on of the few remaining members of the greatest generation. He and his family made countless sacrifices protecting our freedom.
