Earl W. Hatcher, Jr. spent sixteen years, four months and twenty-nine days in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Award, the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Commendation, the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Meal, 5th Award.
