Dryden Veteran’s Day Ceremony, Veteran
Dryden, New York – 11 Nov 2017

ABOUT THE MISSION:
We have been invited by the Dryden VFW and American Legion to stand a Flag line at the Village Square ( four corners of Dryden ) for their Veteran’s Day Ceremony. The community of Dryden has a rich history of past veterans from as far back as WW1, I should know as quite a few of them were relations of mine. With a few of the past Post Commanders, many ceremonies and parades have fallen by the wayside, but the new Post Commander, Ken Miller, would like to bring them back. Ken, as I do, feels it’s important that the youth of the community understand the heritage of the area, honoring those veterans serving today as well as those that gave their lives for the freedoms we hold so dearly today. Following the ceremony, the American Legion Auxiliary will put on a Luncheon at the Veteran’s Memorial Home VFW/American Legion @ 2272 Dryden Road (rt 13) from 1200 till 2pm or till the food is all gone. I know in the past we have always gone to Dewitt Park in Ithaca for their ceremony, but I thought we’d do something a little different this year and help the Dryden community revive the heritage of their proud little Village.
