ABOUT THE MISSION:
Mr Jones honorably served his country for 20 years from 1946 until his retirement in 1966. Gene joined the United States Army Air Corps in 1946 and in 1947 was assigned to the United States Air Force after it was formed. In 1950 he joined the United States Navy when trouble in Korea commenced. He remained in the Navy until his retirement in 1966. Throughout his honorable and distinguished military service career, he served on sea duty aboard eight different vessels. After retiring from the Navy he was employed by Lufkin Industries Trailer Division and in 1973 he went to work for the United States Postal Service and after 22 years, Mr Jones retired as Postmaster in Kennard TX in 1995.
