SUMMARY:Donnie Carver\, USA-Vietnam
DESCRIPTION:Fellow Patriots\,\n\nWe have been asked by the Carver family to stand in honor of and in respect for the life and service of Mr. Donnie Carver. Mr. Carver served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War and continued to serve in the North Carolina National Guard after his tour of duty was over. Mr. Carver is also well known for his longtime affiliation with the South Boston Speedway in South Boston\, VA and Ace Speedway in Altamahaw\, NC…. serving as a flag man for the racetracks. I ask you to join me in standing for this great hero as he once stood for us. This will be a flag line only mission at the Cemetery at the conclusion of the funeral. The itinerary is as follows: \nStaging: 11 A.M. Cooper Family Cemetery 391 Cooper Cemetery Rd. Prospect Hill\, NC \nhttp://tiny.cc/b3iqcy \nMission Brief: 11:15 A.M. \nThe funeral will take place at a different location approximately 2 miles away. It begins at 11 AM and is expected to last approximately 45 minutes. We will be given notification by the funeral director when the service is about to conclude…at which time we will establish a flag line.\n\nThe forecast is calling for temperatures to be in the mid 90s with a heat index of 102°. Please dress accordingly. Wear loose clothing\, a hat with a brim\, eye protection and sunblock. Plenty of water and cooling cloths will be provided. \nRC: Lori Featherston \nNvmbrrayne@gmail.com\n336-583-4750 \nSPECIAL NOTE: Safety is of our utmost priority. Every effort possible is made in planning and executing the PGR Mission statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle\, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the NCPG and its riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing\, and any unique ride information known to our RCIC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well-being is always a principal ongoing concern. Our RCIC’s are asked to stand-down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or present unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill\, comfort\, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.
