Donald Lee Cottrell, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

United States Army veteran SGT (E-5) Donald Lee Cottrell, (81) stood for us in both Korea and Vietnam and now it’s time for the Patriot Guard Riders to stand for him to honor his faithful service to our country. Sgt Cottrell was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division as a Track Vehicle Mechanic and Auto Mechanic. His awards include the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service medal with 2 Service Bars, and Good Conduct Medal with 4 awards. After his service, Mr. Cottrell was a regular at the Powersville Opry in Byron and loved to work in his garden.

Flag line from 5 PM until 7 PM while family and friends arrive for visitation.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure:
Please bring masks and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at the mission briefing.
A general record of attendees will be held by the ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will NOT be disclosed.
Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have a higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against the risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.

Flag Line from 10:30 AM until the service begins at 11:00 AM, then Render Honors at the completion of service as the veteran is placed in the hearse, then provide a rolling honor guard to Magnolia Park Cemetery, 205 South Pleasant Hill Road Warner Robins for burial with military honors.
