Mission Complete: 7 June 2019 – SPC1 (Ret) Donald Earl Williams, USA Vietnam Veteran, Yukon / Binger, OK.
On Friday, 7 June 2019 there were 5 PGR Riders on 4 bikes and 1 cage, and 5 new riders on 2 bikes and 2 cages, who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of USA Vietnam Veteran SPC1 (Ret) Donald Earl Williams at the Smith & Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, OK.
The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said
PGR stood the Flag Line, standing on both sides of the entry door, and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle.
At the conclusion of the service, Military Honors were rendered outside of the Chapel by the Army Honor Guard, who presented the flag to the Surviving Spouse. Upon completion of Military Honors, the RCIC presented the framed Invocation and the condolence envelope to the Surviving Spouse, and told her that the Plaque would be delivered the next day. With all presentations completed, the PGR stood a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the chapel to the transport motorcycle, which was ridden by the Hero’s son.
With the able assistance of the Yukon Police Dept., the assembled Riders then accompanied the Hero, family and friends to the intersection of OK Hiway 152 and US 281 in Binger, OK, where PGR turned north on US 281 while the family and friends continued west to a private residence in the Ft. Cobb Lake area.
Thank you to each of my fellow Riders and the new riders for attending this mission. This mission was greatly enhanced by the attendance of each of you, and your presence made a difference to this family.
Most of all, thank you SPC1 (Ret) Donald E. Williams, for your service to this great nation. Rest in Peace Sir, your mission is complete, and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully,
RCIC: Jimmy “airride” Gaines
