Mission Complete: 28 August 2019–A3C Donald Chapman, USAF Korean War Veteran, OKC ,OK.
On Weds. , 28 August 2019 there were 11 Patriot Guard Riders in 10 bikes 1 cage, we had one new rider and 3 from the ABATE MC who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of USAF , Korean War Veteran Donald Chapman..
The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue Star, Silver Star & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
The members present handheld the American and USAF Service Flags and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, those PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle.
At the end of the service, the riders stood another respect line while Mr. Chapman was moved from the chapel to the coach. We then with the help of the OCPD accompanied Airman Chapman to Fort Sill National Cemetery. We met with 3 riders from PGR SW. who had staked the area with flags for the Military honors. The military honors were rendered by the USAF Honor Guard then we presented the 6 children of Mr. Chapman with plaques and invocations.
Thank you to all of my fellow PGR for attending this mission. I would like to thank PGR SW. for the flag support. Your presence made a difference to this family. Most of all, thank you A3C Donald Chapman, Veteran of Korea, for your service to this great nation. Stand down Sir, your watch is over, and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully,
RCIC: Dennis Denson
