DESCRIPTION:Donald C. (Don) Knott\, Retired \nUSA USAR – Korea\, Vietnam \nHattiesburg\, Mississippi – 06 Apr 2017\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nDonald (Don) C. Knott\, age 88\, passed away peacefully on March 29\, 2017 at his home in Lamar County\, Mississippi\, surrounded by his wife of 43 years\, and family members. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Hattiesburg.  He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the United States Army including two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam followed by Army Reserve duty.  Following his last assignment as a Recruiter in Hattiesburg\, he retired and became a Parts Manager for the Ford dealership and later\, the Lincoln dealership in Hattiesburg.\nA native of Indiana prior to service\, he enjoyed a full life of many pursuits including an active rural life\, including his horse and farm animals while rebuilding a small farm house in the Bellevue Community. An extremely active member of the VFW\, he was a former Post Commander of the VFW Chapter 3036 and was awarded membership in the Military Order of the Cootie\, the ‘Honor Degree of the VFW in recognition of outstanding service to the VFW and its programs.
