Mission Complete: 21 June 2019- PO2 Don Gerald Musgrove, USN, Korean War Veteran, Newalla, Ok.
On Friday, 21 June 2019 there were 11 Patriot Guard Riders on 9 bikes and 1 cage who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of USN, Korean War Veteran PO2 Don Gerald Musgrove at the First Baptist Church of Newalla.
The area surrounding the Church was staked and the American Flag flew proudly in the wind as family and friends arrived.
The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver and Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
At the conclusion of the briefing, riders mounted up and rode a short distance to the family home where a Respect Line was formed as family members got in the family vehicle.
Riders then accompanied the family to the Church where PGR members stood a Flag Line with the American Flag and the Navy Flag staked nearby the entrance to the church. PGR members manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle.
At the conclusion of the service, the U.S. Navy Honor Guard played Taps and folded the flag and presented it to the Hero’s wife, then stood by as the RCIC read the PGR Plaque and presented it to the Hero’s wife. The RCIC then read the PGR Invocation and presented it, along with copies and printed condolences to the Hero’s wife and Thanked the family for inviting us to come and Honor the Military Service of their loved one.
Thank You to all my fellow Patriot Guard Riders for attending this mission. Your presence made a difference to this family.
Most of all, Thank You PO2 Don Gerald Musgrove for your service to this great nation. Rest In Peace Sailor, your mission is complete and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully
Bruce”Sixgun”McCormick
