Honor Mission
Dominick Vincent Maffetone, Veteran
Sun City, Arizona – 02-23-21


Dominick Vincent Maffetone was a United States Air Force veteran. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1971. Dominick entered the service in July of 1967 at the age of 19.  He was attached to the 26th Aviation Maintenance Squadron United States Air Force Europe. During his time in service he achieved the rank of Sergeant (E-4). Sgt. Maffetone spent a total of 2 years and 9 days in foreign service. Sgt. Maffetone was released from active duty and honorably discharged in July 1971.While in the service of his country Sgt. Maffetone earned the National Defense Service medal. Dominick was one of the founding members of American Legion Post 144 in Glendale as well as the Vice President of the Post 144 chapter of the American Legion Riders.
It is our honor to stand in silent reverence as we show respect and gratitude to this hero for his sacrifices made for this nation.

Meet Flag Captain at the Visitor’s Center
Flag line set: Upon Hero’s arrival at approximately 10:20am
Military Honors: 10:30am
Special Notes: Following CDC/Government guidelines/mandates and directives from our State Captain, the following precautions are to be followed: All members are required to wear a face mask/cloth covering at all times during the mission. If you are unable to wear a mask, we ask that you stand down and stay home. There are no exceptions. No handshakes, elbow bumps or hugs for greetings and goodbyes. If you feel ill or have a temperature, please stay home until you improve. If you have medical condition(s) that make you at high risk we ask that you please stand down until conditions improve. Maintain a minimum of six-foot distance from other members when standing the flag line. Maintain at least 15 feet separation from all family members, cemetery personnel, Honor Guard, funeral home staff, clergy, etc. Wash your hands before, during (as practical), and after the mission. Water will be provided by the flag support person and passed out only by that person. No snacks will be provided by flag support and members should not bring any to share either.
