Dennis Lynn Crouch, Retired

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Brothers and Sisters of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been called upon yet again to stand with honor and respect for one of our own. BM1 (SW) Dennis Lynn Crouch, U.S. Navy Retired and Vietnam Veteran, who was an original member of the Virginia PGR.
He stood for so many that stood for us, ensuring they were shown the respect and honor deserved.  A Vietnam River Rat, PBR Coxswain, Dennis was instrumental in the creation of the Local Mobile Riverine Force Association for the Tidewater Va. area. In addition, he also was a founding member of CVMA 27.
His work for the Veteran community never ended. He would stand for a fallen Brother or Sister whenever called upon up to the end.  Denny’s military awards during his 21 year Navy career were impressive, A Purple Heart, Navy Commendation w/V, Navy Achievement and Navy Unit Commendation w/Bronze star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals w/3 stars, USMC Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam gallantry Cross w/cluster, Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation, Sea Service w/3 stars, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Small Craft Patrol Pin, Expert Pistol and Rifle Medals, National Defense w/star and 3 Navy Good Conduct Medals. Dennis also was qualified for USMC RECON duty, Armed Forces Riot Control, Combat Cargo handler and was a Qualified Craft Master.
Brothers and Sisters come stand with us and help escort him to his final resting place.

Special Instructions:

We will stage for the arrival of the family.
At the direction of the Ride Captain we will depart for the Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery.
At the Cemetery we will set the flag line and stand tall with Honor as Military Honors are bestowed upon our brother and friend.
We will be traveling at highway speeds so ensure all flags are secure and able to withstand same.
No contact with the family will be allowed except by the direction of the Ride Captain in Charge, unless initiated by the family member.
COVID guidelines are in effect, please maintain your own personal safety and protection.
Flags & Water:
Flags will be provided
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

  3. Dennis stood the Flag Line for many of years for those that gave their all. Now it is our turn to stand the Flag Line for him, but with a heavy heart. You will be missed by many. To the Family and Friends, Dennis may not walk amongst us any more but he shall never be forgotten.

  7. Many sympathies to the family as Dennis is laid to rest. He will be missed by his many friends, family and fellow PGR members. Personally, I am grateful for him showing myself and so many others how to conduct ourselves as Ride Captains! RIP!
