MSgt Buckley proudly and honorably served in U.S. Air Force from 1974 to 1991 as a highly decorated Aircraft Armament System Technician with 27th AGS (Tactical Air Command).
During this time, his medals and badges include Air Force Commendation medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Distinguished-Presidential Unit Citation with one Bronze Oak Leaf, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award ribbon with Valor Device and three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Oak Leaf, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Campaign Stars, overseas Short Tour Ribbon with one Bronze Oak Leaf cluster, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service award Ribbon with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduation Ribbon with one Bronze Oak Leaf, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
