At the age of seventeen years and 11 months Del chose to enlist into the United States Navy. Machinist Mate Traphagen served on the USS Ranger for this great nation we live in until his honorable discharge in August of 1970. Machinist Mate Traphagen earned the National Defense Serve Medal.
