ABOUT THE MISSION:

It is my sad duty to report that we have lost yet another of Georgia’s Hero’s. The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of US Army/Navy Veteran, David Stinespring, to honor his passing and gallant service to his country.

Mr. Stinespring was born on July 18, 1946, in Toccoa, Georgia, to the late Curtis P. and Carolyn Burrell Stinespring. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Stinespring. David was a United States Army and Navy Veteran having served two tours in Vietnam. He was active duty Army from 1966-68, released to complete four years Army Reserve to 1972, and joined the Navy from 1973-1975. He earned the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. David was retired from Hormel Foods and formerly employed with Georgia Power. David was a life member of Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720 and a member of the Cooties. He was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church.

David’s memorial service will be Saturday September 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Military honors will be provided by the US Army Honor Guard, Habersham County American Legion Post #7720, the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.

This will be a flag line mission only.
