Mission details: Flag Line at Shelter Obituary: Our veteran, David Michael Lemak, was born April 10, 1948 and passed on May 4, 2016 at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Christine (Chris) Lemak, 2 daughters, one sister. After graduation from high school David immediately entered the U.S. Marine Corps (1967) and was sent into combat during the Vietnam War. After his military service he married his high school sweetheart Christine (1969) and worked in the steel mills and oil business. Because of health problems he had to retire earlier than he wanted. David was an avid advocate for Veterans issues and rights and was an active member of the following organizations: The American Legion, Military Order of the Purple Heart, VFW, DAV, and was the Co-Founder of the Sgt. J.R. Tijerina Marine Corps League, Lone Star Veterans, and Marine Corps Coordinating Council.
