Jones has requested that the Patriot Guard Riders stand a silent flag line to honor their loved one’s service to our country. It is our honor to do so. SFC Jones passed away on 7 August 2019 in Columbus GA. He was 77 years old. SFC Jones retired from the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Among his numerous awards were the Bronze Star Medal with V device\, Purple Heart with 3rd Oak Leaf\, Combat Infantryman Badge\, Meritorious Service Medal\, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm\, Vietnam Service Medal with Star and Army Commendation Medal. SFC Jones stood for us.
