David was serving in the US Navy when he was Killed in Action on the morning of December 7\, 1941. Seaman 2nd Class David Edmonston was serving on the USS Oklahoma which was torpedoed and sunk with over 400 sailors and Marines onboard. David earned the Purple Heart Medal\, a Combat Action Ribbon\, the WW2 Victory Medal\, the American Campaign Medal\, a Distinguished Unit Citation Ribbon\, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and a Navy Expeditionary Medal.
