ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, our presence has been requested to honor a revered member of the United States Military. Please join in standing a flag line of honor and respect for fallen veteran, Dale R. Merkel, just as he once stood for every one of us and escort him to the hallowed grounds of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.  Protecting his country and preserving its freedoms, hero Merkel served our great Nation in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 1978, achieved the rank of Corporal and earned the Good Conduct Medal.  He is survived by his wife, four children and four grandchildren.

My wife and I offer our deepest condolences to the family of an American Hero. His service and sacrifice to our country to preserve our freedom is not and will not be forgotten. I wish him Fair Winds and Following Seas. Your mission here is completed. Rest in peace, we have the watch!
