DESCRIPTION:Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders\, the family of United States Army Veteran T/3 Dale F. Sturgill has asked us to stand for him at his memorial service during the rendering of Military Honors. \nDale was inducted in the US Army in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater of WWII as a diesel mechanic. While serving our country\, Dale participated in the Battles of New Guinea and the occupation of Japan as well as the battle of Luzon\, in which Dale was awarded a certificate of Meritorious Service.  Dale’s commanding officer Colonel James E. Walsh wrote the following: “On 15 SEPT 1944 Dale landed on the most advanced push of the American forces at Morotai while his outfit was repeatedly burned and strafed by enemy planes.  They left Morotai\, again in invasion boats and through enemy infested waters\, stopped at Leyte\, PI for re-fueling then went towards Luzon.  Throughout his service with the company\, Dale has displayed both excellent character and efficiency.  He is held high among the officers and men of his company and his help has been a credit in bringing about the successful conclusion of this war” \nDale was Honorable discharged JAN 1946.  During his tour of duty\, Dale was awarded: The Luzon Campaign – Bronze Star\, Adriatic Pacific Campaign Medal\, American Theater Ribbon\, New Guinea Campaign- Bronze Star\, WWII Victory Medal\, Philippine Liberation Ribbon – Bronze Star and the Good conduct Medal. \nDale is the father of PRG member Tom Sturgill and very good friend of David “Duce” Van Duisen\, NW District Ride Captain \nThe US Army Honor Guard will fold and present the burial flag.  The VFW will provide the Rifle Volley and a family friend will render TAPS. \nPlease join with me as we stand to Honor of this true American hero from the greatest generation and his family and friends. \nMISSION PLAN; This will be a flag line mission only. \nMISSION DATE: 25 JUN 2016 / Saturday \nSTAGING LOCATION:  Raymond Chevron; (intersection of Hwys 101 & 6) 622 Heath Street\, Raymond\, WA. 98577 \nSCHEDULE:\n1430 – Staging/Sign in\n1500 – Briefing\n1520 – KSU for mission location\n1530 – Establish flag line\n1600 – Service begins with military honors.
