ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of USN AE3, Dale Burnham Thompson, 79, has honored the Patriot Guard Riders with a request to provide an escort from the Springs Church to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery and stand a flag line where full military honors will be rendered. Hero Thompson enlisted in the USN in October of 1958, served proudly and honorably with the “Lighter than Air Squadron”, (VF-124 the “Gunfighters”) until July 1961, then served in reserve until September 1963. His last primary duty assignment was at Naval Air Station, Moffett Field, CA. He earned the rank of Aviation Electrician’s Mate Petty Officer 3rd Class and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Following his Naval service, hero Thompson attended Sikorsky Service School and worked for SFO Helicopter Airlines, then later joined the Bay Area (CA) Transit Authority. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and hiking. He pursued Civil War history was fascinated by the Wild West and maintained a significant library to feed his love of reading. Dale was married to his wife Nadine for 57 years. They both will be interred together following his honor service. He was born December 29, 1938, in Gary, IN, and died March 27, 2018. His service was held off until they could be buried together. She was primarily a homemaker born November 2, 1941, in Bakersfield, CA, and died October 15, 2020. They are survived by a daughter, son, and one grandchild.

ESCORT: 09:45 am. The Greenlawn East coach will arrive alone at 09:45 am and immediately we will proceed to the committal shelter.
The family will be seated prior to the escort per their request to view the motorcycles passing by.
Note: We want to have as many bikes as possible and the weather should be great!
