CWD K9 – Emperor, Retired
USN – WoT
South Lyon, Michigan – 11-07-20
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to stand in honor of fallen CWD K9 – Emperor. A Navy Seal veteran of Navy Seal Team -3 he serviced in Iraq & Afghanistan as a bomb detection & personal protection contracted working dog (CWD). He is credited with finding approximately 150 cases of weapons & IED’s as well as saving countless lives during his tours. Emperor was seriously wounded in 2011 during an ambush attack on his unit and unfortunately his handler was killed. Emperor engaged in the fight and was credited with dispatching 3 Al-Qaeda operatives & wounding a 4th. His injuries were so severe that he would have been put down in the field if not for his team’s insistence that he be treated as any other wounded US Soldier. He was retired and for his actions, his team awarded him a Bronze Star & Purple Heart. After retiring to his trainer in Colorado, he was fortunate to be repurposed as a registered service dog who has been alerting LASZLO of impending seizures & PDST. Laszlo is a combat Marine Veteran who served our country for 18 years. Emperor went in for surgery of cancer which was worse then they expected and Emperor passed away.
