His family has requested that the PGR attend his services. The mission is a ‘go’ and all contacts have been made. Mr. Cupps enlisted in the Navy in 1974, serving on the USS Bigelow (DD942), and discharging in 1978. He re-enlisted in 1988 and went on to make the Navy his career, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (E7) in 2006. He served on the USS Leftwich (DD984) during the Gulf War, as well as other assignments including serving as a recruiter. His many awards and decorations include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6), Navy Unit Commendation (2), Good Conduct Medal (5), Combat Action Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Services: 10:00 am Saturday, September 17th at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75965.
Staging: at the funeral home from 8:15 to 8:40 am with a riders meeting at 8:45. There will be a very short motorcycle escort to the cemetery located across the street from the funeral home.
